Pramod Bhagat is one of India’s greatest para badminton champions and the first sportsperson from Odisha to receive the prestigious Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award in 2021, India’s highest sporting honour. He created history at the 2020 Summer Paralympics by winning the Gold Medal in the Men’s Singles SL3 category, becoming India’s first Paralympic gold medallist in para badminton.
He is also a recipient of the Arjuna Award in 2019 and the Padma Shri in 2022 for his remarkable contribution to Indian sports.
